As advertised, covers the basics

The book is smartly laid out, with clear guides for both piano and guitar chords. The beginning has the required quick course on how to read written music and a few beginner's notes about theory. There are plenty of examples to show how each progression has been used in popular tunes. The booklet's compact size makes it easy to carry around and simple to keep open and lay flat on a music stand. This is an excellent guide for anyone starting out to learn the chording part of songwriting.

I bought this in the hope of getting some fresh ideas on progressions or finding some inspirations for new songs. I came up with a new song the first time I used it. Hopefully there are more to come as I slowly work my way through it.

Useful, handy, good enough.

I liked this handy booklet. I bought it for songwriting, and so far I've found it useful in that it got me through a couple of sticky spots where I needed a little inspiration. I wouldn't expect a theoretical dissertation on chord progression, but you'll get some use out of it. I don't think it's a must-have item, though, which is why I give it 3 stars.
