Stan Wagon is a Professor of Mathematics at Macalester College, Minnesota. Examplary piece of mathematical writing

This may be my favorite mathematics book. The mathematics is deep and interesting, explained well, with a good discussion of the history and references. It's not just about the Banach-Tarski paradox as such: there are many related paradoxical and unparadoxical results, results about amenable and supramenable groups, fascinating facts about measures, etc. Very rich book.

"DEDICATED TO ALL GOD'S HANDCRAFTED GIFTS... HIS CHILDREN"

DESIGNED BY GOD SO I MUST BE SPECIAL is a colorful, positive book that will truly make your child feel special and build his/her self confidence.
My daughter really loves the pictures and hearing about how God blessed her with so many gifts that we as adults may sometimes take for granted (our sense of sight, hearing, touching and smelling [taste was not included] and more.) This is really a 4 1/2 star book only because God's name is mentioned only on the cover, dedication page (above title) and the first page of the book. The rest of the pages start with "HE", however, this is easily remedied. When I read it to my daughter I just add "GOD" to each page and it works perfectly. In my opinion that is the only flaw in the book.
If I am running late putting my daughter to bed, I've found that the story is just as charming if I read only the first paragraph on each page (it has 3.) Also DESIGNED BY GOD SO I MUST BE SPECIAL is a great training tool to teach your child objects from the book. I say "where's the: flower, butterfly, cloud, dog, cat, bunny, frog, fish, rainbow, bird, bees, bed, bathtub, sun, tree," etc. and my daughter will search for the object and point to it.
I must include the last page of the book for you so you'll know what you are missing if you don't own this:
"HE GAVE ME MY SPIRIT SO THAT I COULD KNOW THAT HE'S ALWAYS BESIDE ME EVERY PLACE THAT I GO.
TO LOVE ME, PROTECT ME, TO SHOW ME THE WAY, TO BE THERE IN HARD TIMES AS WELL AS EACH DAY.
HE DESIGNED ME WITH SPECIAL TALENTS, GIFTS AND ABILITIES YOU SEE, WHICH LET ME KNOW THAT HE HAS SOMETHING SPECIAL IN MIND FOR ME."
I highly recommend this VERY SPECIAL book for home and the church library. You won't be disapppointed.

This was one of the very first books my now 3 year old daughter received when she was born. We have read it to her almost every night since. She loves it! Now she's pretty much memorized it. I buy it for everyone I know who is having a baby.

People can be so ridicoulous......

In response to people ranting about the "caucasion" edition......So would it be better if the book was only available in one edition with only caucasion children in the picture? I think the point was that the book is meant to be personal and about "me", so the publisher offered the book in 2 editions so that African American children would not be looking at pictures of children with white skin and wondering why the picture doesn't match up. Are you that small-minded that you couldn't see that? I think to offer books in only one edition is the true diservice. The story is not different, just the color of the children. Get it?

A truely wonderful book, for all children. BTW- you can find this book in both editions through Amazon.

but I was still amazed by the quality of this book

Fact is, I wasn't expecting a masterpiece, but I was still amazed by the quality of this book. It's the second installment of the Horus Heresy series set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, and anyone well-versed in the lore of 40k will be fascinated by the events in this book and its predecessor, Horus Rising. Everything is the same but also different, for so much can change in 10,000 years (40k occurs, obviously, in the 41st millennium, while the Horus Heresy is set in the 31st). I'll definitely continue my read-through of the Horus Heresy series. It certainly is progressing through the story faster than I expected, what with the series consisting of 30 entries and counting, though a few in the series consist of a compilation of short stories and/or novellas in place of a singular novel. But I digress.

In summary, great read! Definitely recommend.

This was an exciting follow up to the first book and provides lots of interesting history of the warhammer 40k universe.

Be Very Careful Here!

This review is all about the reviews listed. Every one of them has been posted within a few days timeframe and all are from reviewers with ONLY ONE REVIEW in their history. Plus, reading the actual reviews it just seems to drool similar reviews. They are short and succulent - nothing in depth - nothing showing why someone would want to buy their gold or silver offshore. I wish Amazon could police reviews better. . .

Of course, on the other hand this all may be very legit and on the up-and-up. It could be the author does have a secret way of buying gold cheaper in the Philippines than anywhere else on earth. Could be he has a boat rigged with a giant vacuum and goes under water to simply suck up the gold dust and then comes in at night and spends all night shoveling this gold into small sacks to sell to readers of his book.

This book enlightens my mind on protecting wealth by investing in precious metals. David specifically states where, how, and when to invest in gold and silver. Not only it is very detailed and practical, but more importantly it is Bible-based! I am thankful that I read your book.

The book contents several useful information for idividuals, which have no experience in protecting their deposits/assets in the way of precious metals. So the content is for sure a first step for more skills in this investment form.

AMAZING!!!

My Third grade students went wild over this book! I loved it as a teacher because the book gave my kids ideas of how to empower themselves against bullies. The kids loved it because of the darling characters, and fun story line. We are hosting a potato party in celebration of our new favorite book!

Great Book! My kids love tot and the bully shield!

I am the mother of three boys. I am concerned about the bullying that is happening in our schools and have been looking for a good book that deals with this problem. I also love that this book teaches love for everyone even if they are different. This book is good for all ages. My nine year old loves it as much as my four year old. This is a great teaching tool to have in your home.

A terrific addition to my collection

My sister gave me a couple of recipes from her copy. Made them, loved them (even my hubby!). I purchased the 'new' version, but it wasn't the same - some recipes were added (mostly for bread machines - I don't own one) and some deleted (of course, some of the deletions were recipes I was interested in). So the hunt began. Sis told me what was on the dust cover picture and, voila!, I found it on Amazon. After deliberating for a couple of days (should I buy the bread AND the soup books or just the bread book?) I decided 'what the hey, buy both' and am I glad I did. I love reading old cook/baking books (yes, I actually do prepare recipes from them). Can't wait to start digging into this and flagging bread recipes to make. For the new version that I still have - I will be gifting it to one of the nieces/nephews.

If you are new to bread baking, start with this book

If you've never baked a loaf of bread or made rolls, this is an excellent book to help you start baking. Mr Clayton explains the technique of mixing and kneading, how to judge if the dough has risen correctly, and how to test if it has baked long enough. Each recipe has a comment about it, and may include where it originated, what the dough should feel and look like before and after baking, and even what to serve it with. So it's a fun book to read as well! This is his first written in 1973, and as my copy was falling apart from use, my mother-in-law purchased his newer book for me in the 1990s. That book had most of the recipes from this one, plus additional recipes, but two of my favorites were not included in the newer volume. I wrote them out, but they faded over the years. Hence my purchase of this book. Again, this book is a gem!
